Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) - Emergency RNWe are seeking a compassionate and skilled Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) to lead and support the delivery of exceptional nursing care within an emergency department setting. This role requires a dedicated leader who can foster a safe, high-quality environment while ensuring regulatory compliance and staff development. The ANM will serve as a mentor, resource, and advocate for both patients and nursing staff, collaborating closely with leadership to optimize unit operations.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain a safe, clean, and infection-controlled work environment.Engage with patients and families to uphold service excellence and address concerns promptly.Communicate effectively and professionally, resolving conflicts as they arise.Participate in policy development and promote evidence-based nursing practices.Ensure accountability for quality, operational, financial, and regulatory goals within the unit.Advocate for patients and coordinate care across healthcare disciplines.Collaborate with departments to improve workflow and patient throughput.Assist in recruitment, selection, and retention of nursing personnel.Plan and manage staffing schedules, ensuring appropriate personnel utilization based on competencies and patient needs.Lead or participate in quality improvement projects and attend relevant committees.Evaluate staff performance, provide coaching, and conduct appraisals.Contribute to budget development and monitor productivity standards.Promote a healthy work environment that minimizes illness and injury.Commit to ongoing professional growth and development.QualificationsMinimum five years of registered nursing experience, including at least two years in acute care or a similar setting.At least one year of recent charge nurse or supervisory experience.Strong knowledge of nursing scope of practice, nursing process, and individualized care planning.Ability to work independently and collaboratively to find resources and solutions.Competent in assessing nursing needs of acute and chronically ill patients and their families.Proficient with computer systems and adaptable to new software.Capable of providing direct patient care.EducationBachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) with seven years of relevant RN experience may be considered.Licenses and CertificationsCurrent Registered Nurse license in California or equivalent regional licensure.Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.National certification in specialty area preferred.Additional certifications required depending on unit assignment, such as ACLS, PALS, NIH Stroke Scale, ONS chemotherapy & biotherapy provider, and others as applicable.Additional RequirementsSuccessful completion of physical evaluation, drug screening, and background checks prior to employment.This opportunity is located in a vibrant regional healthcare setting within the Pacific Southwest, offering a supportive environment for professional nursing leadership and growth.
