Job Description

This role involves performing a mix of TIG and MIG welding on mild steel, aluminum, and stainless steel to produce a wide range of custom and job-shop metal products. You will work from blueprints in a fast-paced environment, contributing to the fabrication of display fixtures, metal enclosures, and other custom metal components.

Responsibilities

• Perform TIG (approximately 60%) and MIG (approximately 40%) welding on mild steel, aluminum, and stainless steel components.
• Read and interpret blueprints to understand project specifications, dimensions, and weld requirements.
• Set up welding equipment, adjust settings, and select appropriate consumables based on material and project needs.
• Fabricate, fit, and assemble metal parts according to drawings and work instructions.
• Use tape measures and other measuring tools to verify dimensions and ensure accuracy of cuts, fits, and welds.
• Work efficiently in a fast-paced job-shop environment where projects and priorities may change.
• Inspect welds and finished parts for quality, accuracy, and adherence to specifications.
• Collaborate with fabrication, painting, and other production teams to complete projects on time.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all shop safety practices.
• Operate and care for welding and fabrication equipment, reporting any issues or maintenance needs.

Work Environment

The position is based in a large, clean shop equipped with updated welding and fabrication equipment, spread across two adjacent buildings. You will work on 1st or 2nd shift in a job-shop environment where projects and parts vary, providing exposure to a wide range of metal products. The culture includes many bilingual Spanish speakers and a strong community-oriented, faith-based atmosphere, with coworkers who share interests such as hunting. The environment is relaxed yet professional, with a focus on teamwork, safety, and quality.

This is a Permanent position based out of Saint Michael, MN.

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $32.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Saint Michael,MN.
