Harris Hands Community Services, Inc. seeks a Direct Support Professional/ Driver for our Without Walls Day/Supplemental Habilitation Programs. The ideal candidate must be reliable and maintain a positive and professional attitude while fostering a supportive environment, and enjoy supporting individuals with developmental disabilities in a community-based setting. They must document provided services accurately and efficiently, and utilize Computer skills to enter data into the online database system (Therap).
Qualifications for this position must include:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D
- Must pass all OPWDD background tests
- Must have NYS Driver's License
- Must be able to drive a 15-passenger van, with three years of experience driving a 15 passenger van
- Must have previous experience working with the ID/DD population.
- Must be creative, a team player, flexible, have conflict resolution skills, and be able to complete paperwork on time.
Additional Qualifications include:
- Strong reliability and compassionate approach to care
- Making sure all individuals are engaging in daily activities
- Effective Reading and writing skills for documentation
- Proficiency in computer use to manage program records
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- 1 Saturday a month for meetings, Virtual / unless there is in-person training
There is no overnight shift available. Employees may be asked to work mandatory overtime. Serious inquiries only.
