Main Objective:

The Fitter is responsible for fitting parts in sub-assembly and complete heat exchangers, while also gathering materials per job assignment and performing the necessary layout per prints.

Location : Houston, Texas 77029

Pay: $26.00 - $28.00 per hour

Hours 5:00 AM – 3:00 pm Monday-Thursday

Key Responsibilities and Expected Results –

·        Fit parts in sub-assembly and complete heat exchangers safely and per standards

·        Review engineering drawings prior to all manufacturing operations.

·        Gather materials per job assignment and performing the necessary layout per prints

·        Complete operator inspections

·        Maintain clean and safe work areas

·        Participate in company sponsored programs and iniatives including but not limited to QS, 5S, Production Boards, Continuous Improvement Team, Safety, etc.

·        Work in other areas of production as required.

·        Notify supervision to determine when machinery needs to be placed out of service.

·        Notify supervision to order machinery replacement parts, shop production consumables, miscellaneous supplies and safety supplies.

Requirements

Education

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Experience

·        Preferred 1-3 years experience in ASME Code Fabrication and/or equivalent experience

·        Highly motivated, results oriented and work on multiple projects

·        Basic computer skills

Knowledge & Skills

·        Basic understanding of heat exchanger terminology

·        Fundamentals of manufacturing processes and safety

·        Ability to work with and apply mathematical concepts

·        Strong interpersonal and team communication skills

·        Attention to Detail

·        Problem Solving

Class A Fitter Standard Work

Initial Requirements:

·        Demonstrate ability to meet Class B Fitter activities with no supervision or direction.

General Requirements:

·        Per Fitter Job Description.

In-Class Requirements:

·        Demonstrate ability to perform all fitting operations on all alloys with no supervision.

·        Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

In-class Training Requirements:

·        Demonstrate ability to safely and accurately perform fitting operations with no direction or supervision on all alloys.

Class B Fitter Standard Work

Initial Requirements:

·        Demonstrate ability to perform all Class C Fitter activities with minimal supervision or direction.

General Requirements:

·        Per Fitter Job Description.

In-Class Requirements:

·        Demonstrate ability to read and interpret drawing and welding procedure requirements with no supervision.

·        Demonstrate ability to perform basic and advanced math functions with no direction and supervision.

·        Demonstrate understanding and interpretation of SHECO fitting standards with no direction and supervision.

·        Demonstrate ability to fit pressure and non-pressure parts with no direction or supervision.

Demonstrate ability to utilize leveling equipment to ensure orientation accuracy with no direction or supervision.

·        Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

In-class Training Requirements:

·        Must pass 1G 1⁄2” Carbon Steel ASME IX GTAW (INCO 82) welding test.

·        Demonstrate ability to perform fitting operations safely and accurately with no direction or supervision on all alloys.
