Requisition Summary Do you want to help shape Peterbilt’s future electric‑powered vehicles? The Zero Emissions Design team is looking for a Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) Engineer with interest in supporting innovative new technologies. Engineering projects may include new product development, current production design & support, field service & warranty reduction, and factory process improvements. Duties involve interfacing with Peterbilt and Kenworth Manufacturing, the PACCAR Technical Center, PACCAR Vehicle Electric Powertrain Team, Product Planning, Marketing & Sales, Management and suppliers to ensure the high‑quality development and execution of designs and products for the next generation of industry‑leading trucks. Job Responsibilities Lead the development of design concepts; refine via analytical tools and prototyping; plan and execute validation activities; support pilot build events; launch product into full production. Manage deliverables across multiple projects, providing guidance on the application of specific tools and processes. Work in a collaborative small‑team environment to explore and evaluate advanced vehicle technologies. Provide guidance and coaching to young engineers. Maintain DFMEA and DVP tasks and deliverables. Collaborate with multiple suppliers to aid successful integration and validation of electric powertrain components into PACCAR trucks. Leverage internal product development processes and Six Sigma skills to ensure high‑quality results, manage progress and report updates. Manage supplier activities related to design and manufacture of components. Work closely with multiple PACCAR divisions. Manage multiple priorities and goals simultaneously. Support pilot builds at PACCAR truck factories. Travel up to 15% may be required. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a similar field. Five years of experience in a related field. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in business or engineering. PE License (Professional Engineer). Experience leading engineering projects and stakeholders. Six Sigma training/experience desired; Design For Six Sigma (DFSS) preferred. Knowledge and experience with Battery Electric Powertrains desired. Familiarity and experience with medium and heavy‑duty commercial vehicles and technologies preferred. Basic knowledge of Creo Parametric, SolidWorks or other similar CAD modeling software. Familiarity with project‑management methods and tools. Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks, adaptability to change, self‑starter. Demonstrated effective communication skills (verbal/written). Applying standard engineering techniques with minimal supervision. Proficiency with PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and related computer software. Benefits 401(k) with up to a 5% company match.
