Overview Position: Clinical Instructor in Emergency Medicine at Mississippi State University Animal Emergency and Referral Center (AERC). Afterhours and Weekend shifts. Responsibilities Teaching responsibilities involving didactic and clinical training for veterinary professional students and veterinary medical technology students. Service responsibilities including emergency room shifts, primary and secondary clinical case management, and consultation with private practitioners. Take a leadership role in improving the quality of the AERC emergency service, enhancing patient care and teaching during veterinary student rotations. Participation in continuing education programs. Qualifications Minimum: DVM or equivalent degree and eligibility for licensure in Mississippi. Preferred: Teaching experience and Small Animal Emergency/Critical Care experience or training. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Excellent telephone and email communication skills; ability to work in a team environment with doctors, staff, and students to provide veterinary care and aid in instruction of veterinary students and veterinary technology students. Working Conditions Job frequently requires walking, sitting, reaching, talking, hearing, and handling objects with hands. Requires standing, stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
