Specialty: Labor & Delivery RN (L&D RN)

Shift: Nights 4x12 (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM) 

Job Description:
The Labor & Delivery RN provides specialized nursing care to antepartum, laboring, delivery, and postpartum patients. Responsible for monitoring maternal and fetal status, assisting with vaginal and cesarean deliveries, managing labor complications, and providing education and support to mothers and newborns.

Responsibilities:

• Provide care for patients throughout antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum phases
• Monitor fetal heart rate using external and internal fetal monitoring systems
• Assist with labor induction, augmentation, and vaginal deliveries
• Circulate and assist during C-sections and recover post-operative patients
• Provide newborn assessments and immediate newborn care
• Manage Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, insulin drips, and other obstetric medications
• Perform triage assessments for obstetric patients
• Monitor for complications including hemorrhage, hypertension, and abnormal fetal heart patterns
• Provide postpartum care including fundus, lochia, perineal care, and patient education
• Support breastfeeding/lactation education and discharge teaching
• Maintain accurate documentation in EMR system

Requirements:

• 2+ years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience required
• Active RN license (License in hand required at submission)
• BLS required
• NRP required
• AWHONN certifications preferred (Beginner/Intermediate/Advanced)
• Travel experience preferred
• Experience with Allscripts/Altera EMR preferred
