Overview: Precision Inspectors are the last line of defense between a part on the shop floor and a part onan aircraftcarrying pilots or passengers.You'llverify that components for platforms like the F-35, 737MAX, and M1 Abrams meet exacting standards, using drawings, CAD models, and precision tools to catch whatcan'tslip through — and partner with engineering to fix what does. Responsibilities: Perform detailed inspections for in-process and final inspections on machined parts and electrical/mechanical assemblies, using detailed drawings and CAD models to verify conformance to manufacturing and design requirements Ensure company policies and procedures complied with for the receiving and storage of incoming parts and materials Research, prototype, and implement new inspection tools that meet all design and business requirements Document nonconforming product and assist engineering in root cause analysis and corrective action Support quality management (QMS) policies and procedure documentation, and assess compliance with company and industry standards, initiate and lead continual improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives Act as a quality advocate on the production floor, escalating risks, and identifying trends and/or serve as an additional technical resource Perform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment Basic Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalency certificate 3+ years of inspection experience in an aerospace, military, or manufacturing environment 1+ years’ experience with reading and interpreting drawings, CAD models, and process specifications Strong communication skills; able to effectively communicate with engineering and production groups Preferred Skills and Experience: 5+ years of experience in a quality, inspection, or manufacturing role Thorough understanding of all layout inspection tools (surface plate, height gauge, indicators, calipers, micrometers, gage blocks, thread gages, etc.) Experience with First Article Inspections Experience with aerospace standards Experience working with manufacturing enterprise resource systems, electronic databases, and paperless work instructions Practical experience working within quality management systems (AS9100 and ISO 9001) Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of managing priorities and tasks as delegated Ability to read and interpret vendor supplied documentation Additional Requirements: Willingness to work overtime, and/or weekends when needed to hit critical deadlines Must be able to lift upto 25 lbs. unassisted Must be able to stand for extended periods – 8 hours min Annual Salary Range: $70,000—$115,000 USD Hourly Pay Range: $35—$55 USD This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
