Location: Jackson Correctional Institution, 5563 10th St, Malone, FL 32445

The Clinical Support Technician is responsible for: Supervising clients' therapeutic and recreational activities, monitoring client break periods and movement, intervening to control or channel inappropriate behaviors, taking census counts, etc. Reporting client observations, incidents, unusual occurrences, or missing clients to appropriate personnel and records improvement / progress. Upon successful completion of the required internal training, providing didactic sessions according to designated curricula within the program. Guiding and assisting clients in complying with program/institutional rules and regulations. Maintaining and updating client records, including recording service hours, therapeutic treatments, activity or group participation, and so forth; in accordance with contractual requirements. Serving as a member of the treatment team providing input to treatment plans, conflict intervention processes or privileges. Assisting team in maintaining consistent setting for treatment. Performing variety of related office and technical duties as necessary such as answering telephones, relaying messages, responding to inquiries regarding program services and policies, filing, photocopying and scanning documents, assembling intake packets, participating in client activities to promote socialization, etc. Performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements: High School diploma or equivalency. Two (2) years of prior experience in the behavioral health field. General knowledge of the physical, cognitive and psychosocial functioning level of the client population; and the demonstrated ability to appropriately interact, tailor interventions, including de-escalation techniques, and communicate with clients based on their individual maturation level. Good interpersonal and communication skills necessary to exchange information and interact with treatment team and referral sources, and provide clients with counseling support and motivation. Physical Requirements: Ability to walk or move about facilities for up to two hours at a time, to monitor and interact with clients. Ability to speak with others in order to exchange information and provide support. Ability to proofread and check documents and files for accuracy on a regular basis. Ability to respond to telephones and pages, and to hear and detect alarms and unusual noises.
