divh2Hot Food Production/h2pThis position is responsible for the preparation of hot food items to both patient and retail areas. This position utilizes production sheets, forecasting, recipes, and equipment./ppEssential Job Functions/pulliPatient and Retail Services ulliPrepares food according to recipes and production sheets to meet the departments standards for quality as measured by appearance, taste, temperature and portion sizes./liliAccurately completes production sheet data to include usage, yields, and leftovers./liliCompletes all daily prep work as assigned./liliSets up and breaks down hot food serving areas./liliFills in for cross-trained roles in the department./li/ul/liliRegulatory/Sanitation ulliMaintains work area in a sanitary manner; completes cleaning duties./liliPrepares, serves, and stores foods according to HACCP guidelines./liliPractices good hygiene including hand washing, wearing hair restraints, and glove usage./liliUtilizes FIFO when obtaining foods from storage areas./liliTakes and records temperatures of food during meal periods./li/ul/liliSafety ulliUses equipment in a safe manner; reports any issues immediately./liliCleans equipment according to established guidelines./liliRefers to and follows MSDS guidelines for chemical usage and storage./liliUses proper body techniques in lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling./li/ul/liliService Excellence ulliPerforms excellent customer service skills with all customers and coworkers./liliAnswers questions about prepared caf food items./liliHandles service recovery immediately or involves supervisor as needed./liliReceives and distributes all messages in a timely manner/li/ul/liliOther duties as assigned./li/ulpCompetency and Experience [Knowledge, Skills and Abilities]/ppRequired Qualifications/Experience/pulliMust be 18 years of age./liliOne (1) to two (2) years of experience in Restaurant or institutional cooking./liliStrong leadership ability, good organizational skills, independent and critical thinking skills, sound judgment, and knowledge of legal aspects and liability of nursing practice./liliStrong ability to communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience./li/ulpPreferred Qualifications/Experience/pulliCulinary classes and/or Vocational/Technical training in cooking and food preparation./liliTwo (2) to three (3) years experience in healthcare food service cooking./liliExperience in Healthcare setting./li/ulpLicense, Certification Clearances/pulliServSafe Food Safety Certification Preferred./liliAct 34-PA Criminal Record Check from the PA State Police system/li/ulpPosition Type/Expected Hours of Work/pulliIncumbent will be scheduled based on operational need (rotate shifts, standby, on-call, etc.)./liliTravel may be expected locally between System locations./li/ulpEqual Employment Opportunity/ppIndependence Health and its affiliated companies are Equal Opportunity Employers.
