Physical Security Support II

Description The Physical Security Support serves as the first point of contact for employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors while helping maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming environment. This position combines customer service excellence with physical security responsibilities, including access control, visitor management, incident response, and security monitoring. Essential Functions: Greet, verify, and direct employees, visitors, vendors, and contractors in a professional and courteous manner. Enforce badge compliance and access control procedures in accordance with security policies. Coordinating cleared background checks from vendors prior to access granted. Administer and maintain the visitor/vendor management system, ensuring data accuracy and compliance. Monitor entrances, exits, and lobby areas to prevent unauthorized access. Conduct monthly testing of front desk security systems, including lockdown and holdup buttons. Assist with newhire onboarding by preparing badges and providing building access, evacuation, and safety information. Support safety drills, evacuations, and participate in or support the Safety Committee, as assigned. Receive and safeguard legal or official documents (such as subpoenas), ensuring chainofcustody, confidentiality, and timely routing in accordance with established procedures. Manage and resolve physical security-related service tickets. Partner with and support Workplace Services and Facilities teams on ad/hoc requests, Provide coverage and support at other locations, as needed. Typical Scope: Serves as the primary security and customer service presence at the facility's reception area. Ensures authorized access to the building through visitor management, badge issuance, and access control procedures. Monitors security systems, including CCTV, alarms, and access control platforms, and escalates issues as necessary. Supports the safety and security of employees, visitors, contractors, and company assets. Responds to routine security incidents, emergencies, and requests for assistance in accordance with established procedures. Maintains accurate security documentation, visitor records, and incident reports. Partners with Physical Security, Facilities, Human Resources, and local emergency services when required. Exercises judgment within established policies and procedures, referring complex or high-risk situations to Security leadership. Typically works independently with limited supervision while maintaining regular communication with site management and security leadership. Education & Experience: Required Education: High school diploma and/or specialized certification Required Experience:1 - 2 years of relevant experience Qualifications & Skills: Proficiency in visitor/vendor management system and monitoring tools Proficiency in Security equipment including access control, camera systems and alarms Excellent written and communication skills Demonstrated strong skills in problem solving and quality customer service Responsible for badge audits and assuring that access is correct, including monthly server room audit Responsible for providing monthly access report Ability to remain calm, professional and detail-oriented in a security environment Proficiency in Microsoft Office Efficient, well-organized, able to effectively manage a variety of duties simultaneously Ability to follow procedures, maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment Professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with employees, visitors, and vendors Work Environment & Conditions (with or without reasonable accommodation): Ability to travel infrequently (less than 10% of the time) Abilitytoremainstationary(sittingorstanding)foratleast50%oftime worked Mustbeabletocommunicateeffectivelyinpersonandviadigitalplatformswithotheremployees,members, and third-party vendors Capableofoperatingappropriateofficeequipmentrequiredforemployeeproductivity,includinguseof keyboards Possesstheabilitytofunction independently Ability to lift up to a minimum of 10 lbs.
