STEP (Temporary) Registered Respiratory Therapist

Details: The STEP (Start Temporary End Permanent) program is a 12-week contract-based program that offers the perks of traveling without the travel.

What are the perks of joining the STEP program:

• Competitive Pay Starting pay will vary based on the role. All STEP caregivers will have eligibility for overtime as well as weekend and night differentials. Participants will also be eligible for Mosaic’s 401k retirement program.

Where in Mosaic will I work: Respiratory Therapists will be in the Respiratory department at Saint Joseph.

Who is eligible to participate in this program: Registered Respiratory Therapist with at least two years of experience are eligible. Former caregivers of Mosaic must have not worked for Mosaic for at least six months to be eligible for the STEP program. Current caregivers are not eligible to participate except those currently in a PRN position who commit to working full-time hours for at least 12 weeks.

Summary: This position assumes responsibility for caring for and completing tasks that contribute to high quality safe and effective care. This position will execute protocols administer respiratory therapies and educate patients and families about conditions and treatments.

This position works under the supervision of the Director and Assistant Director and is employed by Mosaic Health System.

Duties:

• Evaluates and assesses patients respiratory needs to make recommendations.
• Administers medications and treatments based on patient outcomes.
• Delivers and assesses patient response to ordered therapy.
• Monitors records and communicates patients condition and response to stimuli.
• Provides patient education for disease medications and treatment.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED equivalent Graduated from an accredited respiratory therapy program approved by the NBRC where clinical rotations were completed.
• RRT - Registered Respiratory Therapist and RCP - Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner required.
• BCLS - Basic Life Support required within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support and PALS - Pediatric Adv Life Support within 6 months of hire.
• 1-2 years experience preferred
