Supply Chain Supervisor

Job Description Summary:

The Supply Chain Supervisor is responsible for leading and coordinating all site-level supply chain activities at the Endicott manufacturing facility. This role oversees production planning, purchasing, inventory management, material flow, logistics coordination, and customer order fulfillment to ensure uninterrupted manufacturing operations and on-time customer delivery.

The Supply Chain Supervisor serves as the primary link between Operations, Customer Service, Engineering, Quality, and Suppliers, ensuring materials, resources, and production schedules are aligned with customer demand and business objectives. The role leads a team of planners, buyers, inventory personnel, and related supply chain professionals while driving continuous improvement initiatives focused on inventory optimization, supplier performance, service levels, and operational efficiency.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Supply Chain Leadership

• Lead, develop, and supervise site supply chain personnel, including planners, buyers, schedulers, and inventory control team members.
• Establish departmental goals, performance metrics, and development plans.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Production Planning & Scheduling

• Lead development and execution of production schedules aligned with customer demand and manufacturing capacity.
• Coordinate demand, supply, and production planning activities to support on-time delivery objectives.
• Partner closely with Operations leadership to balance labor, material availability, and production priorities.
• Facilitate daily and weekly planning meetings to review schedules, shortages, capacity constraints, and delivery commitments.

Procurement & Supplier Management

• Oversee procurement activities to ensure material availability while balancing inventory investment.
• Monitor supplier performance including quality, delivery, cost, and responsiveness.
• Work with strategic suppliers to resolve shortages, expedite critical materials, and improve service levels.
• Support supplier qualification and risk mitigation efforts.

Inventory Management

• Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counting, inventory controls, and transaction discipline.
• Develop inventory strategies to optimize working capital while supporting customer service requirements.
• Monitor inventory health, excess and obsolete inventory, and inventory turns.
• Investigate and resolve material discrepancies and inventory variances.

Logistics & Material Flow

• Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics activities.
• Ensure efficient material movement throughout the facility to support manufacturing requirements.
• Collaborate with warehouse and operations teams to improve material flow and reduce shortages and downtime.
• Support freight cost management and transportation optimization.

Customer Order Fulfillment

• Monitor order status and delivery performance to ensure customer commitments are achieved.
• Partner with Customer Service and Sales teams regarding delivery schedules, forecast changes, and order priorities.
• Lead escalation efforts for critical customer requirements and delivery recovery plans.

Operational Excellence

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean Manufacturing and Supply Chain best practices.
• Analyze key supply chain metrics and implement corrective actions to improve performance.
• Support ERP/MRP system optimization and data integrity initiatives.
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for supply chain processes.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience Requirements

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations Management, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in manufacturing supply chain, planning, purchasing, or materials management.
• Minimum 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience.
• Experience working within ERP/MRP systems.
• Strong understanding of production planning, procurement, inventory management, and logistics.

Preferred

• Experience in electrical components, connectors, cable assemblies, industrial manufacturing, or related industries.
• APICS/ASCM certifications (CPIM, CSCP) preferred.
• Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement experience.
• Experience supporting high-mix, low-to-medium volume manufacturing environments.
