You'll begin by partnering with teachers and school leaders in local schools. Your day includes conducting classroom observations, modeling effective teaching techniques, and providing real‑time feedback to ensure high‑quality, standards‑aligned reading instruction. You'll also guide teams in analyzing assessment data to identify student needs and refine instructional practices. Your customized coaching approach fosters strong relationships with educators, celebrates their successes, and bolsters their confidence and skills. As your day winds down, you might offer virtual support to a rural school or prepare for upcoming visits. Familiarity with Georgia's English Language Arts standards and early reading assessment tools like DIBELS, Acadience, and MAP is crucial for effective instruction. Successful candidates will demonstrate a proven ability to analyze student data, supporting tiered interventions through informed instructional practices. Experience in coaching and mentoring educators is essential, as is the capability to model lessons, facilitate planning sessions, and provide constructive feedback. Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills are necessary for building trust with teachers and school leaders. Additionally, organizational skills to manage multiple coaching assignments, along with proficiency in technology and virtual platforms, will enhance the coaching experience in diverse educational settings across Georgia.
