Job Summary And Responsibilities As a Vascular Technologist, you will perform non‑invasive vascular diagnostic examinations to assess blood flow and detect abnormalities in arteries and veins. Every day you will prepare patients, operate specialized ultrasound equipment to capture and evaluate high‑quality images, and precisely document findings for physician interpretation. To be successful, you will demonstrate expert technical proficiency in vascular ultrasound, a comprehensive understanding of vascular anatomy and pathology, and strong analytical and communication skills for accurate diagnostic information. Prepares equipment ensuring that equipment is operational, safe and functioning according to diagnostic standards Ensures that daily equipment and room maintenance is performed and that special precautions and measures are performed to ensure infection control standards Actively participates with patient testing, performing routine, non‑routine, urgent, and emergent patient requests Reviews the physician request to verify the type of diagnostic test requested and that the indication for the procedure is consistent Provides specific diagnostic test information to the patient ensuring the patient is aware of the diagnostic test involvement and provides patient education about the procedure Obtains patient history according to specific departmental procedural protocol Required Associate's Other health related program in a related medical field, which includes seminar course training in cardiac ultrasound, upon hire and Registered Cardiac Sonographer CCI, within 6 months or Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, within 6 months or Registered Vascular Specialist, within 6 months or Registered Vascular Technologist, within 6 months and Basic Life Support – CPR, within 14 days Preferred One year vascular tech experience Where You'll Work Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center is an internationally recognized leader in research and clinical excellence that has given rise to breakthroughs in cardiovascular care, neuroscience, oncology, transplantation, and more.
