Diesel Technician/Mechanic-Swing Shift in Boise

Northwest Equipment Sales, a Heavy‑Duty Truck & Trailer Dealership (Mack, Volvo, Kalmar Ottawa, and Cummins) is seeking to hire a Full‑Time Diesel Technician for its facility in Boise, Idaho. The position requires a candidate who has own tools, good communication skills, at least one year of experience, various types of equipment experience is a plus, a clean driving record, and preferably a current CDL (Commercial Driver’s License). Wages are $20.00 - $40.00 per hour based upon experience, knowledge, and skill level. Inspect trucks to diagnose concerns and troubleshoot with proper equipment to make repairs or adjustments. Follow established guidelines and consult service literature for proper repairs. Inform Shop Foreman of additional repairs required. Complete parts requisition for all parts needed to complete a repair. Properly document cause and correction for all concerns on the repair order as work is completed. Tag and secure warranty parts in accordance with policy and procedures. Attend training classes as assigned by Shop Foreman and stay up‑to‑date with industry standards and changes. Operate shop equipment safely, clean and return equipment to its proper place, and keep the work environment clean and safe. Increase customer satisfaction by effecting repairs correctly the first time. Accomplish and maintain a high level of efficiency and productivity. Maintain a set of hand tools to properly effect repairs as assigned. Consult warranty department as needed for proper repair procedures and parts for warranty repairs, service programs and recalls. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. Minimum of two years of training, education, or experience in any combination. Possess a valid state driver’s license and a set of hand tools. Write legibly and possess verbal communication skills. Understand principles of maintenance and methods. Knowledge of methods, materials, tools and equipment used in repairing trucks. Accountability No complaints are received from customers about how they were treated. Unapplied time does not exceed hours per month. Comeback repairs remain below per 100 repair orders. Warranty rejection rate due to improper or unnecessary repairs is below % for all warranty repairs within a month.
