Class A CDL Truck Driver

The Class A CDL Truck Driver will deliver products to customers and our store locations in an accurate and timely manner; efficiently and safely. Drivers are paid by the route.

Duties:

• Complete daily inventory, orders, delivery invoices, and proof of delivery as required.
• Collect empty containers, rejected, or unsold merchandise for return.
• Verify shipment accuracy and assure saleable condition of product.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary and safe work area.
• Learn and adhere to safety and security policies and procedures.
• Follow all sanitation and quality policies and procedures and report any deficiencies.
• Perform Motor Vehicle Inspections on truck to conform to DOT regulations and company policy. This includes Pre- and Post-Trip inspections.
• Maintain vehicle and hours of service logs as required by DOT.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS OF THE CLASS A CDL TRUCK DRIVER

• Proven work experience as a truck driver with minimum 2-year experience with a CDL A license, Required.
• Experienced and comfortable driving in an urban setting.
• Available for early AM start times.
• High School Diploma or GED; two years related experience
• Must have a clean driving record.
• Must be able to pass all medical exams, drug and background checks (including criminal).

PREFERRED SKILLS FOR Class A CDL Truck Driver

• Tanker endorsement
• Doubles endorsement
• Experience within food and beverage handling preferred.
• Hands on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, AVL units, CB etc.)
• Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly
• Must be willing to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and varying shifts, as required.
• Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
• Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc.)
• Must be able to work independently

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT THE PHYSICAL DEMANDS DESCRIBED HERE ARE REPRESENTATIVE OF THOSE THAT MUST BE MET BY AN EMPLOYEE TO SUCCESSFULLY PERFORM THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THIS JOB. • Must be able to drive, sit, operate/inspect vehicle, stand, walk, kneel, lift and bend required for the entire shift. Able to balance and pull product, climb in and out of truck
• Must be able to regularly lift 50 pounds above six feet, pull/push 300 pounds with hand-held hook.
• Must be able to take hand truckloads of 300 pounds of milk product up and down customer steps when required. Position requires frequent lifting, reaching, climbing, pulling, stooping, fine hand manipulation and kneeling.
• Temperature range includes outdoors, indoors and cargo areas from 34°-40° degrees Fahrenheit.
• Must operate hand-held and truck-mounted computer and refrigeration equipment.
• Must be able to work in indoor and outdoor environment with moderate noise, sometimes slippery floors.
• Must be able to work in a wet environment. Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals. Exposure to nut allergens.
• Maintain constant mental focus and constantly be aware of surroundings.

$5,000 Sign-on Bonus for New Hire, full-time drivers.

$8,000 Sign-on Bonus for Qualified Doubles Drivers. Must have at least one year experience with doubles driving, to be eligible for Doubles Sign-on Bonus.

Drivers must be in a regular full time status and be in good standing to receive any bonuses.
