Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with at least 2 years of experience for a night shift position at a Level III Trauma Center and teaching hospital in the Cape Fear, NC area.

Details

• Short-term acute care hospital with 733 staffed beds, designated as a Level III Trauma Center and teaching hospital
• RRT unit serving both adult and pediatric patients in ICU settings
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 18:00–06:00
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage is required; only 1 holiday off can be approved per contract
• Floating within the hospital or to a sister campus may be required based on facility needs
• No on-call requirement
• Charting system: Epic (experience required)
• Block scheduling is not available

Requirements

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
• Minimum 2 years of experience as an RRT
• Comfortable working with both adult and pediatric ICU patients
• Active state or compact RT license required at time of consideration; pending licensure not accepted
• Epic EMR experience required
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• License required if applicable

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory therapy services to adult and pediatric ICU patients in an acute care setting
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the main campus to be eligible for this position
• RTO is limited to a maximum of 4 days per contract, subject to manager discretion
• Only 1 holiday off can be approved per assignment
• Any missed scheduled shifts may require a makeup shift at the department's discretion
• Scrub color requirement: solid black or black and white
• Pre-start orientation modules are required (estimated 4–10 hours)
• Travelers who have previously worked at this facility must have been away for at least 1 year before returning
• Night shift travelers may extend up to twice before being required to leave for a minimum of 6 months prior to returning
