RN Days Need for State of Arizona

Schedule: Working 12‑hour shifts 6:30am to 6:30pm (36‑40 hours per week) This job is a contracted job for the State of Arizona. Responsibilities Administer medication and perform treatments on an assigned unit, as ordered by the physician and within scope of license. Receive and deliver a variety of information regarding residents’ medical, social, functional, and other needs. Participate in the receiving and giving of shift reports. Communicate with residents, family, and staff as necessary to ensure the resident receives appropriate care from the interdisciplinary team. Perform the initial admission nursing assessment on a newly admitted resident; assist with the development of the Minimum Data Set (MDS) assessments, ongoing quarterly reviews, and care plans. Maintain appropriate clinical and administrative documentation regarding diagnosis, assessments, treatment, and summary of client progress. Lead and perform limited supervision of subordinate staff and assist as needed with direct resident care for the completion of activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, eating, toileting, personal hygiene, and mobility. Conduct and participate in in‑service training and staff development programs for regularly employed staff and other duties as assigned. Utilize AMS concepts and tools for problem solving, continuous work/process improvements, and efficiency; other duties as assigned, as related to the position. Apply knowledge of gerontological/geriatric nursing theory and practices. Assess residents’ condition and changing medical/physical/psychological care needs. Recognize effects of the aging process. Practice and perform procedures of group nursing. Develop treatment plans for resident/patient care. Apply pharmacology and medicines, including Federal, state, and agency laws, rules, and regulations governing general professional nursing practices and the security and control of medical supplies and medications and dispensing thereof. Use professional nursing methods and techniques. Observe and assess behavior and progress of patients. Apply and interpret state and agency laws and regulations governing geriatric nursing practices; develop and carry out patient care plans within a team nursing concept. Provide effective oral and written communication. Build interpersonal relationships. Learn, implement, monitor AMS methods, and use AMS concepts and tools for problem solving and continuous work/process improvement and efficiency. Qualifications Active RN license in the state of Arizona. Preferences Preference for at least one year of experience in a skilled nursing facility or long‑term care setting. #J-18808-Ljbffr
