New Flyer actively supports over 35,000 heavy-duty transit buses currently operated by approximately 500 agencies.POSITION SUMMARY: The Materials Planner is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing the flow of materials to support manufacturing operations while ensuring production schedules are met. This role oversees material planning activities, inventory accuracy, work order management, and Material Requirements Planning (MRP) processes to ensure materials are available at the point of use when needed. The Materials Planner partners closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Purchasing, Supply Chain, and Production teams to maintain efficient operations, support engineering changes, reduce inventory discrepancies and obsolete materials, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. This position plays a key role in achieving inventory, production, quality, and cost objectives while maintaining compliance with company policies, ISO standards, Lean Manufacturing principles, and 5S practices.
