Job Title: General Production Operator

Job Description

This role supports high-volume manufacturing of injection molded and injection stretch blow molded products in a clean, GMP-compliant facility in New Albany, Ohio. General Production Operators run blow mold and injection molding lines, including loading and unloading parts, monitoring equipment, and performing visual inspections to ensure product quality. Operators may work in either the injection stretch blow molding (ISBM) group, which produces bottles, or the injection molding (IM) group, which produces smaller components such as caps and wick holders.

Responsibilities

• Operate production equipment on blow mold and injection molding lines in accordance with established procedures and safety standards.
• Load raw materials and components onto machines and unload finished parts from the equipment efficiently and safely.
• Perform regular visual inspections of parts to identify defects, ensure quality, and maintain compliance with GMP standards.
• Monitor multiple ISBM lines (typically 56) to maintain consistent production flow and respond quickly to issues or alarms.
• Assist with color changes on the ISBM lines as needed, following proper changeover and cleaning procedures.
• Work on IM lines producing smaller parts such as caps and wick holders, ensuring boxes are filled correctly and product counts are accurate.
• Build and pack boxes, label them appropriately, and place finished product on pallets for further handling or shipment when required.
• Use basic measuring tools, such as tape measures, to verify dimensions and ensure parts meet specifications.
• Follow all safety guidelines, including the proper use of PPE, and immediately report any unsafe conditions or equipment malfunctions.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area to support GMP requirements and efficient production operations.
• Collaborate with team members and communicate with supervisors to meet production targets and resolve quality or process concerns.
• Participate in required training on day shift for 36 weeks and apply learned procedures consistently across shifts.
• Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, quality, or safety on the production lines.

Essential Skills

• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and ability to understand how production equipment operates.
• Comfort working in a production, manufacturing, or assembly environment with machinery and moving parts.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as loading, unloading, and visual inspection while maintaining attention to detail.
• Basic familiarity with machine operation or assembly line work, including following standardized work instructions.
• Capability to use simple measurement tools, such as tape measures, to verify product dimensions.
• Strong commitment to safety and ability to follow GMP and PPE requirements consistently.
• Willingness and ability to train on day shift for 36 weeks before moving to assigned shift.
• Reliability in adhering to a 12-hour, rotating shift schedule.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous machine operation experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Experience as an auto mechanic or in other mechanically focused roles, demonstrating hands-on technical ability.
• Prior blow molding experience, particularly on ISBM or similar production lines.
• Experience working on assembly lines or in roles involving repetitive tasks and high attention to detail.
• Familiarity with farm work or other physically active roles, indicating comfort with manual labor and equipment handling.

Work Environment

The role is based in a GMP-compliant manufacturing facility that is very clean and organized, with a fairly climate-controlled environment that tends toward the warmer side. Operators work alongside approximately 80100 colleagues, supporting a high-volume production operation. The schedule follows 12-hour rotating shifts: 6:45 AM7:15 PM and 6:45 PM7:15 AM on a 2-on, 2-off, 3-on, 2-off rotation, with all new hires required to train on day shift for 36 weeks. Proper personal protective equipment is required at all times, including steel-toed boots, safety cap, ear plugs, gloves, and safety glasses

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of NEW ALBANY, OH.

The pay range for this position is $21.75 - $22.75/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
