Information Technology Instructor - Adjunct

Part-Time Curriculum Information Technology InstructorsPart-time curriculum information technology instructors are responsible for the delivery of instruction to community college students pursuing associate degrees, diplomas, or certificates. Instructional activities require subject matter expertise and thorough preparation for every class meeting. Other responsibilities include the completion of necessary paperwork, responding to requests from your immediate supervisor, and attending required meetings and trainings. We are searching for instructors to teach in the following programs of study both in-person or remotely: General IT Networking Cyber Security Software DevelopmentEssential Duties and ResponsibilitiesEssential duties and responsibilities include: instructional activities, being thoroughly prepared for each instructional responsibility, maintaining an up-to-date syllabus for each course, being present for the entire scheduled instructional times, ensuring instructional materials comply with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) guidelines, and applying varying teaching methods to ensure concepts are conveyed to students.Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education and Experience RequirementsKnowledge, skills and abilities, education and experience requirements include: minimum education requirements of an associate's degree in information technology, preferred master's degree or higher, IT certifications, experience teaching in an LMS online environment, subject matter education and/or training and/or experience that have both the breadth and depth needed to ensure effective teaching, experience with diverse populations, experience in teaching in a classroom setting, knowledge of current trends in information technology, excellent communicator (written and verbal communication skills), excellent organizational and time management skills, student centered, ability to present technology in an understandable form, related responsibilities include completing and submitting paperwork, working with program chair or executive director to order needed equipment and supplies, complying with college policies and procedures, working cooperatively with faculty, staff and students, exhibiting a commitment to community college education, demonstrated effective and professional written and oral communication skills and organizational skills, installing software on lab computers as needed, working with other IT faculty to maintain computer labs and networking environment in all IT designated classrooms, developing engaging video-based instructional content, and commitment to the college's diversity and inclusion initiatives.Additional InformationSurroundings/environment: standard classroom environment, usually indoors, away from elements, with moderate noise. Physical effort: while performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to maintain a stationary position for an extended period; move about the classroom, operate and position computers, as needed; and frequently communicate with students. The employee may occasionally move up to 25 pounds. Scheduling: this is a part-time position. Classes meet during the day and/or evening in-person.
