Job Summary Transdev in Redding, CA is seeking an experienced A‑Level Diesel Mechanic to bolster our team. This role demands expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines across various vehicles and equipment. The Diesel Mechanic plays a crucial role in ensuring safety, efficiency, and longevity of our diesel‑powered assets. Compensation Position Subject to Collective Bargaining Agreement. Starting pay $32.32, progressing to $33.32 over one year. Benefits Vacation: 1 week first year, 2 weeks years 2‑7, 3 weeks years 8‑15, 4 weeks after 15 years. Paid Sick Leave: one week per year. Key Responsibilities Conduct diagnostic tests to identify issues and determine necessary repairs on diesel engines. Perform routine maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and optimize performance. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient and accurate repairs. Complete preventative maintenance, safety inspections, and annual maintenance inspections. Lead diagnostic tests to accurately identify complex issues and determine comprehensive repair strategies. Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair tasks, including overhauling and rebuilding components to required specifications. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior technicians. Other duties as required. Qualifications 3 years of experience as a Diesel Mechanic. Ase certifications required; ASE certification program provided. Mechanic’s Tool Set. Must be able to work shifts or flexible schedules as needed. Subject to DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. Physical Requirements Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions (100% outdoors, often remote, alone). Sit for extended periods (up to 6‑8 hours per day); frequently walk long distances on uneven or slippery ground. Push and pull objects up to XX pounds; lift up to 50 lbs.; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch at ground level. Withstand heavy traffic areas and tolerate dust, vehicle fumes, and noise.
