Fabricator, NASCAR Next Gen

The Next Gen Fabricator is responsible for the precision assembly, fitment, and maintenance of NASCAR Cup Series Next Gen (Gen‑7) chassis, body systems, and structural components. This role focuses on the accurate fitment of OEM‑defined parts, composite panel alignment, and adherence to the Next Gen rulebook and workflow. The fabricator works closely with engineering, body scan/aero groups, assembly, and at‑track operations to ensure competitive and compliant race vehicles are delivered on schedule. Key Responsibilities Chassis & Structural Assembly (Next Gen Platform) Assemble, fit, and modify the single-source Next Gen chassis according to manufacturer specifications and engineering direction. Install roll cage components, mounting plates, crush structures, and safety elements within NASCAR tolerances. Utilize OEM and team-developed fixtures for accurate chassis setup and reference measurements. Perform minor repairs of steel, aluminum, and composite structures using approved materials and techniques. Composite Body Assembly & Fitment Fit, trim, and install Next Gen composite body panels including: Roof, hood, fenders, quarters, nose, tail, diffuser panels, and underwing components. Achieve precision alignment using team jigs, laser systems, and body scan data. Collaborate with aero/body departments to meet scan targets, flange alignment, and NASCAR compliance numbers. Maintain tight tolerances required for aero performance and inspection consistency. Welding, Metalwork & Fabrication Perform high-quality TIG and MIG welding for brackets, mounts, and custom components within Next Gen rules. Fabricate and modify parts such as: Cooling brackets Fuel & electrical mounts Ducting supports Follow NASCAR-approved materials and approved fabrication zones. Assemble and adjust Next Gen systems including: Splitters and underbody assemblies Control arms, toe links, and suspension brackets (assembly/fitment only—non-fabricated parts) Cooling systems, NACA ducts, and air inlet structures Partner with assembly and engineering on proper system interface and clearance checks. Inspection & NASCAR Compliance Work with vehicle systems engineers to ensure chassis and body meet: NASCAR optical scan (OSS) requirements Updated rulebook specifications OEM body tolerances Assist with pre race body scan prep and post race teardown when needed. Qualifications Required 3–5+ years of fabrication or race-vehicle assembly experience. Strong MIG/TIG welding skills on steel and aluminum. Hands‑on experience working with tight‑tolerance assemblies or motorsports components. Preferred Experience specifically on NASCAR Next Gen cars. Experience with body scan systems, laser alignment tools, and OEM body fixtures. Composite repair experience with carbon fiber and advanced materials. Previous at‑track NASCAR experience. Familiarity with surface plates, chassis fixtures, and precision measuring tools. High attention to detail and craftsmanship Ability to follow strict OEM/NASCAR procedures Adaptability to rapid rule or part changes Team‑first attitude and professionalism Work Environment & Physical Demands Fast‑paced fabrication/shop environment with welding, metalwork, and composite systems.
