Outreach Coordinator

The nature of the Outreach Coordinator position is to ensure the organization is visible in the community. This includes engaging families who have a loved one with a disability, presenting to community groups, and building relationships with attorneys, financial planners and other providers. The ideal candidate will possess a basic understanding of entitlements, comfort with legal language and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Essential responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Marketing & Communication: Acts as the first contact for new inquiries. Educates the community about Special Needs Trusts and the organization through a well-developed marketing plan. Attends and acts as a vendor for local conferences Maintains/updates the organization website. Community Engagement Builds and maintains relationships with the disability community Plans and executes community presentations. Acts as the community liaison regarding the Charitable Trust. Regularly meets with individuals and their families Legal/Professional: Builds and maintains relationships with the legal community. Maintains and updates list of professional members. Prepares trusts for Trust Committee meetings. Provides letters to attorneys and families of trust acceptance/denials. Collaborates with the Executive Director to develop a fundraising strategy. Drafts and prepares the annual appeal. Maintains a database of donors Assists with grant writing as needed. Partners with Committee Chair on endowment and event preparation Basic Requirements: The Outreach Coordinator will have experience in the disability community with a demonstrated commitment to the mission of assisting people with disabilities live their best life. Some travel within CT is required, so they must possess a car and valid driver's license.Must be self-driven, enjoy learning and work well independently. They will also have the following skills: Management and use of technology Must be able to use and maintain various forms of office technology with particular skills in PowerPoint, database management and Cava. The ability to change pace quickly with an understanding of prioritizing workflow. Strong awareness to changes and impacts to tasks, timelines and processes, and know how to implement adjustments. Ability to work nights and weekends as needed for community engagement.
