The Management Analyst position is located at Audie L. Murphy VAMC in San Antonio, Texas within Diagnostic Imaging Service. As the administrative point of contact for Imaging Services (Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, Radiation Oncology and Intervention Radiology), the incumbent is responsible for administrative functions within the Service.

Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met. Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level.

Duties may include but are not limited to:

-Responsible for management of resources including authorized Full-Time Equivalent (FTE), overtime, and fund control points to ensure that resources are within established ceilings and guidelines

-Must identify workload trends and perform statistical analyses to determine resource needs and projections to accurately compile analyze and prepare management reports such as the Service specific dashboard and Labor Mapping for fiscal and data validation purposes.

-Prepares all of Imaging Services program reports and contributes to the Business Plan and other report(s) as needed.

-Manages all Imaging Services Electronic Inventory Lists (Ell) for equipment by inventories; entering into VISTA all purchased equipment, new equipment, replacements, transfer of equipment, and turn in of equipment.

-Works with the Radiology Administrator (RA) in the development of proposals and new services, ensuring that they are consistent with both system and service mission and goals.

-Assists with data collection, compilation, and graphic display of data.

-Delegated as Imaging Service Safety Officer, ensuring compliance with established safety policies.

-Is delegated Imaging Services Automated Data Processing Applications Coordinator (ADPAC) and is responsible for evaluating the accuracy of data assuring that hardware, software and network resource components are working, and reported to Imaging Services leadership.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 06/02/2026.

Time-In-Grade Requirement : Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-07 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. For a GS-09 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-07. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.

GS-07- You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below:

• Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Knowledge of problem solving and conflict resolution; Knowledge of budgeting concepts and procedures; Knowledge of statistical methodologies. OR,
• Education: Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have 1 full year of graduate level education or superior academic achievement. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. OR,
• Combination: Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have an combination of specialized experience and education beyond 1 full year of graduate level education. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.

GS-09- You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below:

• Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-07 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Knowledge of problem solving and conflict resolution; Knowledge of budgeting concepts and procedures; Knowledge of statistical methodologies such as Capacity-Demand Analysis, Cost Benefit Analysis, and Correlation Studies. OR,
• Education: Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have a masters or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. OR,
• Combination: Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have an combination of specialized experience and education beyond graduate level. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.
