What you would do here:  

A Software Engineer II job description involves contributing to all phases of the software development lifecycle, from design and development to testing and deployment, with a focus on building scalable, reliable, and user-friendly software solutions. Key responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional teams, improving existing systems, mentoring junior engineers, participating in code reviews, and solving complex technical problems to drive business outcomes and technical innovation. 

Typical Responsibilities 

• Design and Development : Design, develop, and implement new software features and applications, translating business requirements into functional code.
• Collaboration : Work with product managers, designers, and other engineers in a team environment, participating in code reviews and adhering to best practices.
• Maintenance and Optimization : Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing software systems to ensure performance, reliability, and security.
• Mentorship : Provide guidance and technical leadership to junior engineers, helping them grow their skills.
• Process Improvement : Contribute to and improve standard engineering processes, including testing, monitoring, and automated workflows.
• Innovation : Stay updated on new technologies and apply them to solve complex problems and drive innovation in software products. 

Typical Environment:

• A Level II engineer often works independently with general supervision.
• Problems faced are difficult but typically not complex. 
• Takes ownership of project deliverables. 
• Trusted to make decisions that impact a project. 
• Seeks to understand the “why” of the work. 
• Accurately estimates complexity of tasks. 

Ideally you have:   

• Technical Expertise : Proficiency in relevant programming languages, frameworks, and databases, including experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and microservices architecture.
• Software Development Lifecycle : Experience with all phases of the SDLC, from requirements gathering and design to testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.
• Problem-Solving : Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot complex issues and implement effective solutions.
• Collaboration & Communication : Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Agile & Scrum : Familiarity with Agile methodologies and experience participating in Scrum ceremonies.

Experience: 

Typically requires a few years of professional software development experience, often with a bachelor's degree in a related field.
