Traditional Labor Law Associate

Job Overview A law firm seeks a Traditional Labor Law Associate for its Sacramento, CA office. The role involves representing employers in traditional labor matters and providing advice on federal and California workplace laws. The position requires a proactive approach to developing strategies and solutions for high-functioning workforces. Duties Handle unfair labor practice charges at the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB). Conduct research and writing for legal matters. Represent management in NLRB elections. Advise employers on union organizing and corporate campaigns. Negotiate and advise on collective bargaining agreements. Manage grievance, arbitration, and unfair labor practice proceedings. Obtain mass picketing injunctions. Advise on wage and hour issues, leave management, and disability accommodations. Review handbooks, policies, and forms for legal compliance. Review compensation, commission, and bonus plans. Conduct management training on labor relations and workplace issues. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements 4-6 years of experience in litigation or advisory work as an attorney. Traditional labor experience preferred. Experience in federal and/or California advice and counsel work preferred. CA Bar Admission required. Understanding of current agency enforcement techniques preferred. JD from an ABA-accredited law school. Education JD from an ABA‑accredited law school. Certifications CA Bar Admission. Skills Excellent attention to detail. Strong organizational and project management skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
