Sr Engineer

Summary:As a Sr. Engineer you will be trained in Energy Transfer Company’s Safety, Operation and Maintenance proceduresrelated to plant and pipeline facilities. The incumbent will provide engineering expertise to ensure safe, reliable, andefficient operation of natural gas pipelines and compressor stations. The duties would include:Essential Duties and Responsibilities:· Provide engineering design and project management for assigned projects in accordance with Company specifications,industry standards and Federal regulations.· Prepare project cost estimates, scopes of work, and scheduling.· Provide direction and monitor Company and third-party engineering and CAD design personnel.· Prepare material requisitions and specifications for the purchase of material for construction projects.· Perform technical review of vendor material quotations, engineering drawings and manufacturing specifications andprocedures.· Review preliminary drawings for neatness, completeness, and accuracy, and approve the drawings for bid andconstruction.· Prepare weekly reports on project activity, track project cost and schedule and reports results to Management.· Review as-built drawings for compliance with Company specifications, Industry standards, and Federal regulations.· Assist Field Operations and team personnel with engineering problems, code interpretation and questions.· Develop Construction Bid packages and write contracts for winning bidder.· Provides financial oversight, and revises projects to reflect changes in cost forecast exceeding approved tolerances.· Coordinates with Specialists, Operations (Team, Managers, and Directors), Gas Control, Integrity, Planning, Marketingand customers to reduce or eliminate any outages to customers.· Maintain a working knowledge of applicable Federal Regulations, Company Engineering Standards and StandardOperating Procedures and other pipeline industry standards and specifications.· Provide technical support for right of way permitting and acquisition including the preparation and approval of road andrailroad crossing permit drawings and the preparation approval of property plats used to acquire the necessary right ofway and temporary construction workspace for assigned projects.· Analyzes outside design drawings for encroachments to Company Facilities. Works to eliminate conflicts and providesinitial scope for required relocations of Company facilities.Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. Therequirements for this position are listed below:- Qualified candidates should possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil or Electrical Engineeringand 6 years of experience in gas transmission or a related field.· Expected to have knowledge of 49 CFR 192, ASME B31.8, API, and AGA. Industry experience in engineering, designand operation of natural gas transmission systems.· Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and MS Projects.· Knowledge in vendor sizing and selection programs for control valves, regulators, and relief valves, pipeline flowcalculations, road crossing stress calculations, area of reinforcement calculations, and other engineering relatedprograms.· Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Excellent analytical and organizational skills· Self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision. Able to handle multiple projects simultaneously in anenvironment of changing priorities, reporting, and regulatory requirements.· Must be able to manage time, conflicting and changing priorities, work in a team environment and assist team membersas required.· Deals frequently with a wide range of contacts including technical, operations, risk management, contractors, vendors,attorneys, and various levels of management.Working Conditions:The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.Usually, normal office working conditions.
