Education Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual:
Successful completion of a professional engineering degree. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree (or higher) in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET); or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
OR
Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico. Evidence of having successfully passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination or any other written test required for professional registration by an engineering licensure board in the various States, the District of Columbia, Guam, and Puerto Rico The FE examination is not administered by the U. OR
Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A (above). Successful completion of a curriculum leading to a bachelor's degree in an appropriate scientific field, e.g., engineering technology, physics, chemistry, architecture, computer science, mathematics, hydrology, or geology, may be accepted in lieu of a bachelor's degree in engineering, provided the applicant has had at least one year of professional engineering experience acquired under professional engineering supervision and guidance. Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.

- You will serve as an Aircraft Carrier Systems Engineer in the Aircraft Carrier Design and Systems Engineering Division in the PAE Maritime Carrier Engineering Team (CET).
- You will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and sharing systems level knowledge within your area of responsibility.
- You will support the execution of technical authority Aircraft Carriers across new construction, operation, maintenance, and refueling.
- You will be responsible for establishing and maintaining relationship with key stakeholders.
- You and your team will support seven Ship Design Managers responsible for technical authority on Aircraft Carriers.
- You will oversee development and technical review of aircraft carrier related system and equipment, design requirements, specifications, system designs, performance analyses, design criteria, design products, and availability work packages.
- You will develop Government Furnished Information; identify technical issues; support testing, trials, and certifications; obtain Technical Warrant Holder concurrences; assess and document risk through design waivers and Hazard Assessment Records.
- You will make risk based technical recommendations to the SDMs and support the SDMs in risk discussions with the Program Office(s).
- You will provide stewardship of engineering and technical capabilities, including coordination and management of class projects.
- You will ensure the Deputy Warranting Officer, Division Directors, and Ship Design Managers are apprised of all issues of potential interest to senior management.
- You will represent the Carrier Engineering Team regarding matters of engineering policy to negotiate decisions affecting critical outcomes primarily associated with system of systems integration and ship integration.
- You will interface with the Program Office and the PARMs to ensure compliance with applicable specifications and standards for platform integration.
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
- This a Defense Acquisition Workforce position that requires an Engineering and Technical Management, Practitioner acquisition certification.
- The incumbent has 60 months to earn this certification. Incumbent must obtain and maintain certification in accordance with DoD Instruction 5000.66.
- Acquisition Workforce (AWF) members must complete 80 hours of Continuous Learning Points (CLPs) every two (2) years, in accordance with DoDI 5000.66.
- Workforce members are encouraged to earn their CLPs by completing Defense Acquisition University (DAU) Credentials.
- Obtaining certification within the allotted grace period and maintaining CLPs before and after achieving certification are conditions of employment. Failure to meet these requirements could result in disciplinary action or removal from employment.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final SECRET security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
