Network Engineer

Network Engineer, Entry Level Opening Must ALREADY have a TS/SCI polygraph clearance. We seek an entry‑level network engineer to perform maintenance, sustainment of existing networks, and identification/correction of issues. Responsibilities Resolve routine network problems; operate network analyzers, WAN test equipment, and network simulators. Monitor data or voice system networks for alarms; activate scripts, confirm alarm accuracy, determine severity, and initiate resolution. Troubleshoot problems using scripts and standard procedures; research issues to determine if resolution can follow predefined steps. Resolve basic issues and document results; communicate alarms or issues and actions taken. Execute scheduled maintenance routines in accordance with standard procedures; identify and resolve issues, escalating when necessary. Activate or deactivate network lines according to established schedules. Perform first- and or second-level problem determination (first level is help desk). Interface with users and/or network vendors. Follow detailed work instructions. Requirements Two (2) years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity. Associate’s degree in engineering technology from an accredited college; alternatively, two (2) years of additional network engineering experience. Experience with installation and configuration of network devices such as firewalls, switches, routers, cabling, Cisco, Brocade, or Juniper devices. Experience supporting WAN technologies such as SONET (OC3, OC48, OC192), DS3, T1, etc. Experience with Taclanes/KG-175 and other similar technologies. Experience with MPLS, BGP, VPNs, etc. IAT Level II baseline certification. Must be a U.S. Citizen. Desired Qualifications CompTIA Network+, CCENT, CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent. Salary varies based on years of experience: $68,000-$75,000. A variety of factors can impact the final salary offered, including geographic location, federal government contract labor categories and wage rates, relevant work experience, specialized skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
