Senior Gameplay Animator

Job Description

Own gameplay animation across the pipeline, from motion capture data to final in-engine implementation

Process and clean up raw mocap data into polished, game-ready animation (foot sliding, contact points, retargeting artifacts, noise reduction)

Retarget and integrate animation onto game skeletons, troubleshooting axis, orientation, and bone roll mismatches across DCC tools and engine

Tweak and maintain animation systems in Unreal Engine 5 (Animation Blueprints, state machines, blendspaces; motion matching / Pose Search a plus)

Author and hand-key animation to supplement or replace mocap where needed, with strong body mechanics fundamentals

Collaborate with tech animators, riggers, and gameplay/design to hit both visual quality and technical constraints

Skills and Requirements

Several years of animation experience on shipped or in-production games

Demonstrated mocap cleanup skill

Proficiency in Maya and Unreal Engine 5

Strong grasp of retargeting, in-engine animation systems, and real-time constraints

Independent spirit, proactive and able to own certain portions of animation deliverables Nice to have

Control Rig / tech-animation scripting (Python)

Motion matching, Chooser/Pose Search Database experience

Familiarity with mocap capture and processing workflows (markerless or marker-based)
