CEC has experienced significant recent growth and has established itself as the go-to supplier for a diversified product line supporting a wide spectrum of markets from commercial products, military customers, to space research laboratories.The Systems Engineer will work with the cross-functional team to design, develop, and integrate complex systems for state-of-the-art RF transmitter systems, including tasks such as system architecture, requirements analysis, verification and validation, and overall system integration across various subsystems. This position manages product subsystems with minimal oversight and provides measurable input to products, processes or standards in operational plans to implement both customer & internal required system operation. The Systems Engineer will work closely with the System Architect (the Project Engineer) to support all Systems Engineering tasks throughout the life cycle of the project/program.ResponsibilitiesUnderstanding of system engineering principles and methodologiesProvide systems engineering support for technical teams in the development, verification, delivery, and operations of Systems and SubsystemsCollaborate with customers and internal stakeholders to capture, allocate, create traceability, and verify requirements at all levels through the lifecycle of the programSupport the integration of various subsystems and system testing to verify functionality, including contributions to test plans and procedures in coordination with the Project EngineerPrepare and present relevant material for major technical reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR)Conduct technical assessments and make recommendationsPrepare and give presentations to peers and managementFamiliarity with Reliability, Availability and Maintainability (RAM) activities including performing Failure Modes Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA), generating Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) and Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) data, and creating Reliability Block DiagramsProvide Reliability Engineering support through analysis of field samples, vendor data, test results and statistical analysisProvide support to Quality and Engineering functions on products moving through the factoryContribute to technical risk management by evaluating design aspects and requirements and suggesting appropriate mitigationsPropose changes in design or formulation to improve system reliability, availability, and maintainability and promote commonalityExperience with Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) to develop and implement support plans for system availability, field support and spare parts management.Ability to perform detailed information gathering, analysis and investigation to understand the problem and determine appropriate resolutionLead Interface Control Document development and documentationKnowledge of military standards and regulationsIntegrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of physical, functional, and program interfacesWhen operating within a Department of Defense (DoD) environment, work with the development team to manage to the unique demands and regulatory requirementsAct as a liaison between functional engineering disciplines and manufacturingUphold the company's core values of Integrity, Innovation, Accountability, and TeamworkDemonstrate behavior consistent with the company's Code of Ethics and ConductIt is the responsibility of every employee to report to their manager or a member of senior management any quality problems or defects in order for corrective action to be implemented and to avoid recurrence of the problemDuties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the businessQualificationsB.S. in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering or equivalent with 8 years of experience with systems installation, integration and test in the defense industryAbility to obtain DoD issued Secret ClearanceProblem-solving and lab debugging skillsExcellent verbal and written skills to interact with peers and IPT collaborationSome travel will be required (10-20%, depending on phase of the project assigned)Preferred qualifications:Active DoD issued Secret ClearanceKnowledge of Control Account Management (CAM) and Earned Value (EV)Able to create and maintain technical development schedules to support manufacturing timelinesFamiliarity with VLF, HF or other RF systemsPrevious experience with systems engineering tools like Cameo Requirements Modeler, SysML, DOORS, and MATLABMost work is performed in an office environment. Some work may take place in our engineering lab or test environment.Pay may range from $107,000 to $154,000 annuallyThe pay range above represents annual base salary only. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as your job level, geographic location, date of hire, experience, job-related knowledge and skills, and education in conjunction with market and business considerations.Base salary is one component of your total rewards package.
