Registered Respiratory Therapist - RRT

Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Job Description:
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Required Qualifications:
- Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification.
- State licensure as a Respiratory Therapist.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (preferred).
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (preferred).
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Educational Requirements:
- Minimum Degree: Associate's degree.
- Degree Type: Associate of Science in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent.
- Field of Study: Respiratory Therapy or a related field.
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Care : Provide comprehensive respiratory therapy services, including assessments, treatments, and education for patients with respiratory conditions.
- Therapeutic Services : Administer respiratory treatments such as nebulizer therapy, mechanical ventilation, and oxygen therapy to patients of all ages.
- Diagnostic Testing : Perform diagnostic tests such as pulmonary function tests, arterial blood gas sampling, and other assessments to help diagnose respiratory conditions.
- Documentation : Ensure accurate, timely, and thorough documentation in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
- Team Collaboration : Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers to deliver coordinated patient care.
- Ongoing Education : Stay informed about the latest advances in respiratory care through continuing education and professional development.
