Clinical Outcomes Specialist - Surgical Urology & Orthopedics

The Clinical Outcomes Specialist at MD Anderson Cancer Center identifies quality improvement opportunities, analyzes patient outcomes, and supports the delivery of high quality, patient centered care. This role partners with the interprofessional team to coordinate care across the continuum, improve processes, and enhance clinical outcomes for complex patient populations. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and a Master's Degree in a healthcare field, and five years of clinical nursing experience, including three years of oncology nursing experience. The candidate must hold a current Texas RN license, maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification. The ideal candidate must also be available to work 100% on-site for an 8 hour day shift schedule with one evening shift per week, and rotating weekends and holidays (minor holidays included). The Surgical Urology/Orthopedic unit is a 32-bed unit for an adult patient population. This fast-paced environment has rapid turnover for surgical procedures, which include postoperative prostatectomy, cystectomy, penectomy, nephrectomy, and orthopedic surgeries. Unique postoperative care of hemipelvectomy, flap monitoring, and testicular cancer surgeries are also managed on this unit. The team uses an interdisciplinary collaborative approach to patient care. Integrated in our nursing practice are tools used to maximize the skills of team members to achieve optimal outcome and improved healthcare quality.
