Why this role mattersOur customers count on parts that meet stringent aerospace and defense requirements. Your mastery of OD/ID grinding, print interpretation, and metrology ensures components perform flawlessly in the field.
Core accountabilities- Set up and operate OD and ID cylindrical grinders (Landis, Studer, Tschudin, Cincinnati, etc.) to precise specifications.
- Select wheels and plan dressing based on materials and finish/tolerance targets.
- Grind tool steels and heat-treated alloys to blueprint and GD&T requirements.
- Conduct in-process inspection with micrometers, calipers, and bore gauges; document results to uphold strict quality standards.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot to sustain machine capability.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- 3+ years of OD/ID grinder setup and operation experience.
- Demonstrated ability to hold tight tolerances and deliver specified surface finishes.
- Strong command of conventional grinding methods, wheel selection, and dressing.
- Expert blueprint reading with GD&T proficiency.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical/trade school is advantageous.
- Reliable attendance paired with a quality- and safety-first mindset.
