Our projects include: Branded content Social/Digital Content Broadcast commercials UGC Gaming platform experiences Interactive/Web3 activations (AR, VR, MR, AI) We're looking for an organized, art-literate, and hands-on Art Producer to run the production side of Sawhorse Productions' Roblox art department. This role sits between our Art Directors, Lead 3D Artists, and producers, turning creative briefs into realistic budgets, staffed teams, and schedules that hold across branded Roblox experiences. You'll come from the art side of Roblox, as a modeler, lead artist, or art director, so you can scope a modular environment, pressure-test an asset estimate, and jump into Blender or Roblox Studio when the work calls for it. Sawhorse needs someone who keeps the art team on budget and on time without losing sight of the craft. This is an hourly freelance position, with expected availability Monday through Friday during core working hours of 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM PST. Requirements Art Budgets and Estimates: Build art budgets and hour estimates for new projects and pitches using Sawhorse's deliverables and live ops templates, hand them to producers for client proposals, and track actuals in Harvest against budget to flag overages early Timelines and Milestones: Create and maintain art schedules, milestones, and review checkpoints for each project, aligned with the dev team and each client's launch and live ops dates Team Resourcing: Check artist availability, match the right 3D artists, modelers, and environment artists to each project, and staff up quickly when new work lands Asset Tracking: Own asset lists and production trackers in ClickUp, keeping status, assignees, and due dates current from concept and blockout through in-engine delivery in Roblox Studio Art Team Partnership: Partner with Art Directors and Lead 3D Artists to break creative briefs into scoped asset lists, priorities, and task assignments Freelance Artist Bench: Manage Sawhorse's bench of vetted freelance artists, including the commissions channel on Discord, so extra capacity is ready before a project needs it Asset and Software Purchasing: Manage art department purchases, from marketplace assets and plugins to software subscriptions and renewals, keeping spend tied to project budgets Artist Onboarding: Get new artists production ready with a short onboarding covering Harvest, invoicing, pay periods, Slack, and Discord Hands-On Art Support: Step in on modeling, texturing, or asset optimization in Blender, Maya, and Roblox Studio when the schedule demands it or bandwidth allows Process and Innovation: Stay ahead of Roblox platform updates, art tooling, and AI-assisted time and budget tracking, and bring ideas that make the art pipeline faster and estimates more accurate Qualifications Experience: 5+ years of experience in game art, art direction, or art production, including 3+ years of hands-on Roblox work as an Art Director, Lead Artist, or 3D Modeler Roblox Art Background: A portfolio or shipped credits showing Roblox art you created or directed, with strong working knowledge of Roblox Studio, MeshParts, SurfaceAppearance, and platform performance limits 3D Pipeline Proficiency: Working proficiency in Blender or Maya and Substance 3D Painter, enough to scope assets accurately and pick up production work yourself Budgeting and Estimation: 2+ years of experience building art budgets, hour estimates, or bids for client or studio projects and tracking spend against them Scheduling and Tracking: Proven experience running art schedules and asset trackers in ClickUp, Jira, Asana, or a similar production tool Resource Planning: Experience staffing projects with internal and freelance artists and balancing workload across multiple concurrent projects Communication: Clear, direct communicator who can align Art Directors, artists, and producers across time zones over Slack and video calls Organization and Discretion: Highly organized and detail-focused, and trusted to handle purchase cards, client assets, and IP-sensitive material responsibly Nice To Have's Experience with Harvest or similar time-tracking and invoicing tools Live ops experience on a Roblox experience with regular content updates Familiarity with Fortnite UEFN or other UGC platforms beyond Roblox Experience with Roblox UGC avatar items and the Creator Marketplace Background in branded entertainment, agency, or commercial production work Experience using AI tools for production tracking or estimation Benefits $40 to $50 per hour depending on experience EEO Statement Sawhorse Productions is an equal employment opportunity employer.
