Director of Manufacturing

Job Description

As Director of Manufacturing, you will provide both strategic direction and hands-on operational leadership to a team of managers and supervisors within a fast-paced, highly demanding manufacturing environment.

This is a high-impact leadership role with end-to-end accountability for manufacturing performance, including safety, quality, revenue recognition, on-time delivery, productivity, capacity utilization, and cost performance. You will establish clear expectations, build organizational accountability, and drive a culture where performance is measured, understood, and continuously improved through data and disciplined execution.

You will lead the organization in maximizing throughput, optimizing capacity, improving operational flow, eliminating constraints, and strengthening cross-functional execution. Working closely with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Finance, Sales, and other key stakeholders.

Essential Functions:

• Place safety as the highest priority and work to eliminate hazards continuously.
\n
• Lead and continuously improve our customer centric manufacturing operations to deliver industry-leading performance in safety, quality, delivery, and cost to result in consistent attainment of the financial plan.
\n
• Develop and execute manufacturing strategies to scale with company growth and evolving customer requirements.
\n
• Own performance metrics including financial delivery (Revenue and EBITDA, the most important), OTD, throughput, scrap, schedule adherence, and cost per unit. Drive performance improvement when gaps are identified.
\n
• Manage production team staffing, skill matrices, cross-training, and shift flexibility to meet dynamic customer demand.
\n
• Lead planning and execution of capacity expansions, new technology onboarding, and facility improvements.
\n
• Serve as key partner to Quality, Engineering, Materials, Program Management, and Supply Chain in driving end-to-end operational alignment.to meet internal and external service levels.

Qualifications

\n
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related technical discipline; or equivalent hands-on experience in manufacturing leadership.
\n
• 12+ years of experience in a high-precision or regulated manufacturing environment, with at least 6 years in a people leadership role.
\n
• Excellent understanding of machining and precision metals working unit operations.
\n
• Demonstrated expertise in lean manufacturing, KPI management, structured problem solving (A3/8D), and team development.
\n
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; capable of influencing across all levels of the organization.
\n
• Data-driven with experience using ERP (Infor LN of added benefit), MES, and visual management systems to manage shop floor performance.
\n
• Strong commitment to quality, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence.
\n
• Proven ability to influence, align, and execute across functional teams.
\n
• Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure while building a collaborative and high-trust, ego-less culture.
