Job Description:

Airbus Helicopters is looking for a Lead Aircraft Technician to join our H125 FAL team based in Columbus MS .

You will be part of the team to lead assigned sections and performs assigned work in support of the aircraft production line. This position is responsible for the execution of all activity within assigned area. Delegates and performs inspection of delegated work. Drives work performance of the technicians in the assigned area to ensure schedule and hours goals are met. Raises issues and communicates/works to resolve daily challenges with all other departments.

On the eastern border of Mississippi youll find Columbus home to our Helicopter manufacturing and assembly lines and Center of Excellence for the entire North America region. Its here that we produce the UH-72A Lakota Helicopters for the U.S. Army in addition to the H-125 aircraft for civil and commercial customers.

Your challenges:

• Assist with planning and prioritize the workload of the assigned section to ensure on time delivery of aircraft according with the delivery schedules.

• Assess schedule dates taking into account parts technician availability and collaborate with the supervisor accordingly.
• Control assign workforce and monitor workflow according to schedules.
• Assist supervisor in drumbeating the section activity in order to reach (OTD) On Time Delivery.
• Provide Technical Expertise and Recommendations in support of all aircraft installations.
• Perform electrical and mechanical aircraft work.
• Inspect completed electrical and mechanical work.
• Use and interpret various forms of Aircraft Documentation in order to complete electrical work.

Your boarding pass:

• Minimum eight (8) years of rotary aircraft experience with two(2) of the eight (8) as a senior technician or equivalent
• Helicopter maintenance experience
• Assesses aircraft status and prioritize people to meet schedule.
• Evaluates lower level technician capabilities.
• Inspects work of lower level technician and identifies discrepancies.
• Determine usability of parts and material.
• Make complex decisions as it relates to aircraft installations.

Physical Requirements:

• Onsite: 90%
• Vision: able to see and read computer screens and other electronic equipment with screens able to read documents reports and engineering drawings. Daily
• Hearing: able to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on the production floor including safety warnings or alarms. Daily
• Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings deliver information and participate in communications. Daily
• Equipment Operation (personal computer telephone copies fax machine and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools including production tools such as hydraulic lifts. Daily
• Carrying: able to carry documents tools drawings electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs. Daily
• Lifting: able to lift documents tools drawings electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs. Daily
• Pushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools. Daily
• Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings working on the computer. Daily
• Squatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving. Daily
• Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices or on the production floor. Daily
• Travel: able to travel independently and at short notice. Once or Twice per year
• Walking (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents): able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces. Daily
• Personal Protective Equipment required: Required PPE includes but is not limited to Safety Shoes Safety Glasses Hearing Protection Respirators/Masks and/or Protective Gloves as required by site and/or customer site
• Administrative position only PPE required: Steel-toed shoes are required for all shop floor visits appropriate hearing/eye protection may also be required when visiting the shop floor.
