Job Summary The Physician Assistant (PA) will provide high-quality medical care under the supervision or collaboration of a licensed physician, in accordance with applicable laws and organizational policies. The PA will evaluate patients, diagnose and treat illnesses, order and interpret diagnostic tests, develop treatment plans, prescribe medications as authorized, and provide preventive health education. The PA will work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver safe, patient-centered care. Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive patient histories and physical examinations. Assess, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic medical conditions. Order, perform, and interpret laboratory tests, diagnostic imaging, and other diagnostic procedures. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans. Prescribe medications and therapies within the scope of practice and state regulations. Perform medical procedures such as wound care, suturing, casting, splinting, incision and drainage, and other procedures appropriate to training and privileges. Assist physicians during surgical or medical procedures when required. Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment options, medications, disease prevention, and healthy lifestyle practices. Document patient encounters accurately and maintain complete medical records. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care. Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as needed. Respond to medical emergencies and provide appropriate clinical interventions. Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, safety standards, and organizational policies. Qualifications Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program. Current Physician Assistant license in FL. National certification through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications may be required depending on the practice setting. Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and decision‑making skills. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a multidisciplinary healthcare team. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to assist with patient positioning and perform clinical procedures. Manual dexterity to operate medical equipment and perform examinations. Ability to lift or assist patients when necessary. Ability to respond effectively during medical emergencies.
