Overview New Leaf Energy is an experienced clean energy developer that partners with landowners, policymakers, and other stakeholders to accelerate the transition to a world powered by renewable energy. We identify high-value sites, work with landowners and local communities to develop them, and partner with long-term asset owners to bring the most impactful clean energy projects to life. New Leaf Energy’s Contracts Specialist is responsible for managing the execution and administration of all clean energy project contracts. The role focuses primarily on the new Power Plants division (IPP). In the first six months, the successful candidate will work closely with the Vice President of Power Plants to set up systems for managing EPC, O&M, and supply and purchase agreements for the first tranche of IPP projects slated to break ground in the second half of 2026. Over the long term, the position will support other project-level contracts across the development business, including equipment procurement and vendor management within the Engineering division. This position may be filled out of our Lowell or Boston, MA or Oakland, CA offices. Hybrid employees work in the office at least two days a week and may work from home on other days. Position Responsibilities Contract execution support: Draft, negotiate, and coordinate EPC, O&M, and supply and purchase agreements, amendments, and related project contracts. Manage the execution of agreements, including all required exhibits and attachments, and coordinate approvals. Assist in evaluating contractor and supplier proposals, bid comparisons, and commercial terms, driving key term reviews with shortlisted counterparties. Ensure scopes of work are clearly defined and aligned with technical requirements. Ensure vendor compliance with insurance and other requirements before releasing work. Contract management: Maintain proper documentation and record‑keeping throughout the project lifecycle. Support the IPP in managing, monitoring, and ensuring compliance with financing documents, EPC agreements, and project contracts. Manage procurement of all deliverables necessary to meet conditions precedent under the IPP’s financing facilities to facilitate loan draws. Review change orders, manage claims, and resolve disputes. Assist the Senior Director of Construction (IPP) in tracking key deal terms, including: Liquidated damages Performance guarantees Milestone schedules and verification Payment structures Risk identification and documentation: Identify potential contractual and commercial risks and elevate them to senior team members. Maintain organized records of contract drafts, comments, and execution versions. Continuous improvement: Support the development, use, and continuous improvement of standard templates, checklists, and contracting materials. Track current trends in key risk areas such as supply chain and tariffs; monitor counterparty positions and seek to improve the company’s risk profile. Desired Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. At least three years of experience in renewable energy EPC contracting, project development, equipment supply, or construction contract administration. Understanding of EPC contract forms, structures, and terms. Knowledge of solar module and battery energy storage system supply agreements and long‑term service agreements. Proven stakeholder management, communication, and organizational skills. Familiarity with structured finance requirements, lender diligence processes, legal training, or experience working alongside legal teams is a plus. Compensation Compensation is market‑competitive base salary, above‑market variable compensation, and an equity‑like program. For this position in Boston the likely base salary range is $104,470 – $119,760. The at‑target annual cash bonus is an additional 10% of base salary, with geography‑based adjustments for other locations.
