Security Specialist

This position is located within the Under Secretary for Arms Control and International Security (T), Office of Executive Director (T/EX). The position serves as the senior security program advisor for the T/EX, providing security program oversight, policy development, compliance assessments, training, and advisory services for the T Family of bureaus and offices (ACN, CT, ET, INL, and PM), as well as associated T family offices. Applicants must meet all the required qualification requirements described below by the closing date of this announcement. NOTE: Applicants must meet time-in-grade and time after competitive appointment requirements, by the closing date of this announcement. Time-In-Grade Requirements: Federal applicants must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade to satisfy time-in-grade restrictions, per 5CFR300, SubpartF. Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal service which provided the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position. Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience conducting training focused on procedural and instructional support of Unit Security Officers (USOs) in compliance with organizational security program; Experience overseeing and implementing physical security program to comply with security standards and sensitive information protocols; and Experience leading at least a security program activity (information/personnel/physical security) and providing advisory services to high-level leadership for the implementation of internal security controls across Bureaus.
