The unit manages the Intensive English Program ( IEP ), Custom Programs, Summer Institutes, and externally funded Grants, including programs sponsored by the U.S. Department of State. These programs foster cross-cultural exchange, professional development, and academic success for participants from around the globe. The Program Coordinator plays a central role in supporting the planning, coordination, and implementation of these programs. This position is responsible for managing communications, logistics, participant support, and administrative processes across multiple program areas. The coordinator serves as a key point of contact for students, participants, partners, and campus stakeholders, ensuring programs are delivered efficiently and with a high level of professionalism. A strong coordinator is an organized project manager, proactive communicator, and adaptable problem solver who can manage multiple priorities simultaneously. This role requires attention to detail, strong customer service skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. The coordinator contributes to program success through effective communication strategies, logistical coordination, and ongoing support for participants and partners. The position supports program lifecycle activities including recruitment, admissions, pre-arrival communication, program delivery, and post-program evaluation. The coordinator also assists with financial tracking, reporting, and maintaining accurate program records. This role has a direct impact on participant experience, program quality, and the reputation of International Programs. This position will participate in International Programs initiatives and represent the GAP unit in interactions with campus and external partners. Required Experience Minimum of two years of office coordination, administrative support or customer service experience. Strong Microsoft Office skills, including the ability to create and use Excel tables for basic data tracking, sorting, and basic formulas. Required License/Certification NA Required Additional Qualifications: NA Preferred Education Degree or training in Communications, Business, English, TESOL , international studies or other relevant training or work experience Preferred Experience Prior experience as a program or project coordinator or work with a grant-funded project. International travel and living experience. Cross-cultural competency and strong problem-solving skills. Experience in financial management, including grants, budgeting, reconciliation, tracking expenses and reporting. Preferred License/Certification NA Preferred Additional Qualifications: Some prior experience in an international setting, study abroad, working with immigrant or international communities, foreign language, or intercultural communications. Prior experience working in an educational setting a plus. Excellent verbal and written skills. Experience with video editing, digital marketing or digital communications, or project planning would be an asset but are not required.
