Electrophysiology Registered Nurse - Cardiac Device Clinic

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Electrophysiology Registered Nurse to join our Cardiac Device Clinic team in Bozeman, Montana. This role is pivotal in delivering comprehensive and coordinated patient care for individuals with cardiac implantable electronic devices (CIEDs), including pacemakers and implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICDs), as well as those requiring electrophysiology-related services.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care, ensuring optimal patient satisfaction, clinic efficiency, and provider productivity. This involves close collaboration with clinic providers and interdisciplinary teams, managing device interrogations, remote monitoring, patient education, and coordinating follow-up care, all while adhering to the Nurse Practices Act and Administrative Rules of the state of Montana.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and interrogate Cardiac Implantable Electronic Devices (CIEDs), including pacemakers and ICDs, monitoring and documenting patient response to device therapy and programming changes.
• Adjust device settings in accordance with provider orders and troubleshoot device-related concerns.
• Oversee remote device monitoring programs and ensure timely follow-up.
• Coordinate and arrange comprehensive follow-up care for patients receiving services through the Cardiac Device Clinic.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date device clinic databases and patient records to support continuity of care and reporting.
• Perform diagnostic tests as ordered by providers, including electrocardiograms (EKGs), event monitors, Holter monitors, and Zio Patch application, removal, and data processing.
• Coordinate and schedule surgical and procedural interventions related to CIEDs and associated patient care needs.
• Collaborate effectively with radiology, surgical, anesthesia, and other interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care for CIED patients undergoing MRI studies, surgical procedures, or other interventions.
• Ensure examination and treatment rooms are consistently clean, organized, and appropriately stocked with necessary supplies and equipment.
• Collaborate with providers to assess and coordinate care for walk-in and urgent patient needs within the clinic setting.
• Provide comprehensive education, support, and ongoing guidance to patients and families regarding CIEDs, arrhythmia management, and electrophysiology-related procedures, including ablation therapy.
• Actively participate in quality improvement initiatives, regulatory compliance efforts, and departmental projects to promote safe, effective, and efficient patient care.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Minimum of one (1) year of registered nursing experience.
• International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners (IBHRE) certification.
• Demonstrated experience managing cardiac implantable electronic devices (CIEDs), including pacemakers and implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICDs).
• Proficiency with major device platforms from manufacturers such as Biotronik, Medtronic, Abbott (formerly St. Jude Medical), and Boston Scientific.
• Strong knowledge of cardiac arrhythmia management and electrocardiogram (ECG/EKG) interpretation.
