Position Summary: Dishwashers at Sparrow Coffee play a vital behind-the-scenes role in keeping the café running smoothly. This position is responsible for maintaining clean dishes, utensils, and equipment so that the front and back of house teams can operate efficiently and safely. Dishwashers are expected to work with urgency, organization, and care while supporting overall café cleanliness and food safety standards.Responsibilities:Wash, sanitize, and properly store dishes, utensils, glassware, and coffee equipmentOperate the dishwasher according to safety and sanitation guidelinesMaintain cleanliness and organization of the dish station at all timesEnsure a steady flow of clean dishes during serviceAssist with kitchen cleaning tasks, including trash removal and floor cleaningBreak down boxes and assist with taking trash out to the garbage compactorFollow opening, mid-shift, and closing cleaning checklistsAdhere to food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standardsCommunicate with kitchen and café staff to anticipate dish needsSkills:Strong work ethic and attention to cleanlinessAbility to work efficiently in a fast-paced environmentWillingness to follow systems, checklists, and Standard Operating ProceduresReliable, punctual, and accountableAbility to stand for extended periodsAbility to lift up to 40 lbs and work in a wet, often hot environmentSchedule and Availability:Part-Time (20hrs+) must be available to work closings (until 7pm) on weekdays and weekendsFull-Time availability (32hrs+)Must have weekend and holiday availabilityPay and Benefits:$15/hrHealth, dental, and vision insurance for FT employeesOpportunities to move into a cashier or support role
