Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Principal/ Sr. Principal Electrical Engineer in support of the Sentinel AVE System Engineering & Integration (SE&I) Team. This position is located: Manhattan Beach, CA.What You'll Get To Do The selected candidate will report to the AVE SE&I Director and lead a team of electrical engineers for the development and oversight of the multi-billion-dollar AVE Segment's electrical aspects. Which include technical and programmatic directions to create and integrate system wiring diagrams, layouts, and roadmaps across elements; oversee signal-quality analysis to deliver engineering products for the Sentinel missile; lead power allocation management, end-to-end power analysis, and power control. The lead is responsible for the successful delivery of the team's products on time while adhering to Northrop Grumman's quality-first standard. Additionally, the selected candidate will provide support and help to foster engineers' career development.Additional responsibilities include:Provide organizational, programmatic, and technical guidance for engineering leadership and management of AVE scope of workDriving on-time delivery of AVE electrical designs and products (system wiring diagrams/drawings/models/layouts/roadmaps and analysis) to support program timelines/milestonesEnsure the organization is properly staffed, equipped, and trained to meet current and future program requirements.Perform earned value management to track schedule, budgets, plans, and report status as a Control Account Manager (CAM)Ensure leadership and key subject matter expert succession plans are in place and be proactive by coaching and mentoring key talent to be able to assume increased responsibilities.Drive a culture of quality through adherence to command media, standards, and best practicesSupporting a comprehensive risk and opportunity management programManage multiple program priorities on engineering deliverablesBrief program status, risks, and technical challenges to consulting engineers, director, and vice president level leaders.Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with other organizations, including other disciplines in Systems Engineering & Integration. Including: Requirements and Verification, Interfaces and Architecture, Specialty Engineering and Modeling & Simulation.Basic Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) with at least 5 years of related experience with bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical discipline; or 3 years of relevant experience with a master's degree; or 1 years of relevant experience with a PhDPosition can be filled one level higher - Bachelor's Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) with at least 8 years of related experience with bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical discipline; or 6 years of relevant experience with a master's degree; or 4 years of relevant experience with a PhDMust have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needExperience with formal management and/or leadership to include performance reviews for direct reportsDemonstrated experience leading cross organizational collaborationControl Account Management (CAM) experienceElectrical design and/or electrical integration experiencePreferred Qualifications:Experience with manufacturing, process development, design principles, and installation instructions desiredAbility to create schedules/plans to drive design changes forward in a timely mannerDemonstrated leadership and managerial skills including team building and navigation, personal and career development, technical and inter-personal problem resolution, work planning and allocation, etc.Strong communication skillsKnowledge of engineering product release cyclesAs a full-time employee of Northrop Grumman Space Systems, you are eligible for our robust benefits package including: - Medical, Dental & Vision coverage - 401k - Educational Assistance - Life Insurance - Employee Assistance Programs & Work/Life Solutions - Paid Time Off - Health & Wellness Resources - Employee Discounts This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package. Primary Level Salary Range: $114,000.00 - $171,000.00 Secondary Level Salary Range: $142,200.00 - $213,400.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
