We are very passionate about improving and streamlining the scheduling/logistical needs of schools and we are already being used in over 600 school districts and 30+ states. Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our remote engineering team. The role focuses on designing, building, and maintaining scalable backend services and APIs using C# and .NET, with strong emphasis on SQL databases, Azure cloud services, and GraphQL. You will collaborate with product and design teams to deliver high-quality solutions, improve system reliability, and mentor junior engineers.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, implement, and maintain backend services and APIs using C# and .NET.Develop and consume GraphQL and RESTful APIs, ensuring performance and scalability.Write efficient SQL queries, design schemas, and optimize database performance.Architect and operate cloud-native solutions on Microsoft Azure, including App Services, Functions, Storage, and managed databases.Drive CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment workflows to production.Collaborate with frontend engineers (including React/TypeScript) and product teams to deliver end-to-end features.Apply best practices for security, observability, and performance monitoring.Perform code reviews, enforce coding standards, and mentor junior and mid-level engineers.Troubleshoot production incidents and lead root-cause analysis and remediation efforts.Contribute to technical roadmaps, estimate work, and participate in Agile ceremonies.Qualifications5+ years of professional software development experience with C# and .NET (Core/.NET 5+).Strong experience with SQL databases (e.g., SQL Server, Azure SQL) including schema design and query optimization.Proven experience building and consuming GraphQL APIs.Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services and cloud-native architecture.Solid understanding of RESTful principles, microservices, and distributed systems.Experience with CI/CD tools and automated testing frameworks (unit, integration, end-to-end).Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration concepts is a plus.Excellent problem-solving skills, strong communication, and ability to work effectively in a fully remote team.Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.Nice to have: experience with React.js and TypeScript, and familiarity with AI tooling such as Claude.BenefitsMedicalDentalVision401k w/ matchPTOExcellent company culture
