divh2Radiologic Technologist/h2pOperates imaging equipment to make images of designated portions of the body as ordered by the physician. Positions and instructs the patient radiological examinations, adjusts imaging equipment, and determines the proper voltage, current and desired exposure time for each image. The person doing this job is responsible for a variety of tasks that lead to a high level of customer satisfaction with respect and dignity./ppEssential Functions:/pulliInstructs, prepares, and positions the patients and performs diagnostic x-ray and, if qualified, CT examinations./liliSelects appropriate equipment and adjusts technical factors for each desired image./liliArranges and adjusts immobilization and supportive devices to obtain precise positioning and to preclude patient movement and shields patients according to radiation safety procedures./liliPrepare and administer contrast media for certain examinations./liliCompletes all required documentation including imaging requests, patient ID cards, billing information, patient history and consent forms and appropriate logbooks, either in electronic or paper formats./liliElectronically manages radiologists preliminary and final reports and ensures copies of those reports are forwarded to the appropriate department(s)./liliPrepares and scans / transmits x-ray/US/CT images to radiologist./liliMaintains appropriate electronic or CD patient records./liliCleans and maintains CT/CT facilities and equipment./liliMaintains in an orderly fashion x-ray films/folders, index cards and related records./liliComplies with all radiation safety procedures that protect self and the patient./liliTransports patients during examination procedures./liliMay be required to work unusual hours, shifts or be on call./liliCarry a cell phone when on call to respond to emergencies./li/ulpOrganizational Functions:/pulliBe compliant with organizational policies and procedures and related departmental procedures./liliFollow all HIPAA regulations as outlined in the HIPAA Policy and Procedure Manual./liliContribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed./liliExcellent customer service skills for both inter and intra department./liliOther duties as assigned by the physicians and Supervisor./liliOther general administrative duties and projects as assigned./li/ulpPerformance Requirements:/pulliKnowledge of theories, principles, and techniques of diagnostic imaging and related procedures./liliKnowledge of principles of physics, electricity and related physical sciences as applied to radiology./liliKnowledge of human anatomy and physiology as related to radiology./liliKnowledge of medical terminology./liliKnowledge of hazards of radiological materials and safety precautions./liliKnowledge of CIMC procedures and record keeping requirements./liliKnowledge of operation, maintenance, and adjustment of radiographic and film equipment./liliAbility to operate a variety of radiographic and film processing equipment./liliAbility to position patients for a wide variety of diagnostic examinations./liliDeals with patients who may be under physical or emotional stress./liliEstablishes and maintains cooperative relationships with patients, medical staff, and other fellow workers./li/ulpAttitude:/pulliMaintain a positive and caring atmosphere for patients, families, and co-workers.
