Assistant Professor Of NursingThe Gardner-Webb University Hunt School of Nursing seeks a qualified applicant for an Assistant Professor of Nursing. This is a 9-month tenure track position. This is a campus-based position with online teaching responsibilities primarily in the Doctor of Nursing Practice - Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) program option.Responsibilities:The Assistant Professor of Nursing holds faculty status and is entitled to all associated rights and responsibilities within the Hunt School of Nursing. The Assistant Professor of Nursing is responsible for teaching and managing nursing courses, collaborating on course revisions to meet program and university standards, identifying resource needs for quality education, and ensuring efficient communication and operations within the school and university. Additional responsibilities include advising students and contributing service to the University, the Hunt School of Nursing (HSON), and the community. Candidates will collaborate with graduate nursing students in the development of thesis, practicum, and projects and may also teach in other HSON programs, as appropriate.The Hunt School of Nursing is nationally accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) and offers a range of programs, including the Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN), Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), and Accelerated BSN (ABSN) pre-licensure programs, as well as an online RN-BSN completion program. The Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program offers concentrations in Nursing Education, Nursing Administration, and a dual Master of Science in Nursing/Master of Business Administration (MSN/MBA). The Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program includes concentrations in Leadership, Family Nurse Practitioner, and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.Required Credentials:Doctoral degreeNational Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)Required Qualifications:Current unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner in North Carolina, a compact state, or be eligible for licensure in North Carolina.Minimum of two years employment in direct client care as a Registered Nurse.Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skillsPreferred Qualifications:Experience teaching at the collegiate levelExperience in the program accreditation processPreparation in teaching and learning principles for adult education including curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation.
