Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist with 2+ years of experience for an acute care hospital position focused on high-acuity geriatric patients in a regional referral center.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting on general medicine floors within a regional referral center
• Patient population is primarily geriatric with high-acuity diagnoses
• Day shift schedule, 8:30–17:00 (occasionally 8:00–16:30)
• 5x8-hour shifts per week with 4 weekend shifts per month; specific weekend schedule discussed during interview
• May float to other general medicine floors within the hospital
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of physical therapy experience required
• Current BLS certification required (AHA-issued)
• Active Louisiana state PT license required if applicable
• Comfortable working with high-acuity geriatric patients in an acute care environment

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must live 65+ miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• Any requested time off (RTO) must be discussed during the interview process
• In the event of a declared emergency, travelers may be assigned to an emergency response team and expected to remain at or return to the facility until the event has passed; candidates who are not comfortable with this expectation should not apply
• All certifications must be issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
